1. Realize You're Already Manifesting Manifesting is the act of taking an energetic experience, idea, or inspiration and bringing it to life on the physical plane. In other words, manifesting is like performing alchemy. We take energy in one state (non-physical) and transform it to another state (physical).
When we define manifesting this way, suddenly our entire lives become acts of manifestation. When we speak, we bring a non-physical thought into the physical world through our words. When we write a grocery list, or doodle on a piece of paper, or cook something new, we are taking an energetic thought or idea and bringing it to life in this 3D reality.
Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly manifesting. Manifesting doesn’t just apply to the big things, like manifesting a dream job or the perfect partner. Manifesting is in every small act of creation, every breath, every word, and every moment of our lives.
2. Stop Believing Your Thoughts (And Fears!) When we start manifesting, we almost always hit up against a fear or limiting belief. Our mind tells us we aren’t worthy, aren’t deserving, aren’t enough, or aren’t safe to have the thing we desire. More often than not, we believe these thoughts, thinking that because someone told us this in the past or because the thought or feeling seems so real, it must be true.
But our power comes when we can realize our thoughts are just that- thoughts. A made-up string of words someone gave us in the past and told us to believe. We have the ability to choose whether or not we believe them. We have the ability to choose whether or not we let fear or past beliefs stop us from manifesting. But we will never be able to step out of our comfort zone and manifest something new if we stay in the boxes our minds create for us.
3. Know the Difference Between Mind Manifesting and Soul Manifesting Have you ever manifested something you thought you wanted, only to be disappointed when it arrived? Or maybe you felt great when you first got it, but after a while you realized it wasn’t really what you wanted at all?
These feelings are the product of what I call ‘Mind Manifestation’. Mind Manifestation is when we choose the idea or vision for what we want to bring to reality with our minds. We allow our minds to take the driver’s seat and choose what it believes will make us happy.
The problem is that the mind doesn’t know what will make us happy. The mind functions like an excel spreadsheet: Numbers are put in, and we can use those numbers to solve future equations or make formulas, but we can’t actually create anything new. Everything the mind comes up with is based on something we have seen or experienced in the past.
Essentially, our mind tries to solve all of our problems by pushing together different combinations of what we already know. If the answers to our problems were in the past, we wouldn’t have any problems to begin with, so manifesting from the mind is always going to lead to a deeper dissatisfaction.
So what do we do? We manifest from the soul.
The soul is the space within us that connects directly to the Universe, God, Source, Spirit, etc. It represents the part of us that has all the answers, is made of pure love, and resonates with Truth. When we manifest from our souls, we have the opportunity to invite in something brand new, something our minds never could have dreamed of.
Manifesting from the soul happens when we get that crazy idea at 3 o’clock in the morning, or we have a chance encounter on the subway. Soul manifestation occurs when we allow our intuition to guide and direct our lives. It’s where the true magic happens.

4: Follow the Manifesting Equation So now we know that manifesting happens daily, our thoughts aren’t the whole truth, and true manifesting happens from the soul. But what do we do from there? We use the manifesting equation. It goes like this:
First, we use our minds to identify the problem. Where are we feeling stuck? What doesn’t feel expansive? Where do we feel limited, or frustrated, or unfulfilled?
Then, we identify the solution with the soul. We take a few moments to step back, tune in, and listen to ourselves to find the answer that resides beyond the mind.
Then, on the other side, we take action. We allow ourselves to be open to serendipity, courageously grabbing opportunities as they come and as we feel called to. We also expand our limits, by noticing what the mind is telling us and what limiting beliefs are holding us back. Then we work to rewire those pathways and make room for something new.
You’ll notice that nowhere in this equation have I written ‘Manifest’. That’s because true manifestation happens in the quiet moments, when you open yourself up, take action, and then let go. It happens when you are least expecting it, because manifesting isn’t an act of making something happen, it’s an act of allowing something to happen.
